Release date: July 9, 2026
Work to resurface US 51 between W State Street and WSOR bridge in Janesville, Rock County, is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 13, 2026. Other improvements include bridge maintenance, deck overlay bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad, curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk curb ramp replacement and concrete pavement repairs.
Motorists can expect to encounter one open lane of traffic in both directions with temporary flagging operations.
Construction is currently scheduled for completion in late September 2026. The construction schedule is based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
