Release date: August 11, 2025

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on a proposed resurfacing project in the Pepin County town of Waubeek on WIS 25 from US 10 west of Durand to the Dunn County line.

The public is invited to go to the project website, review project information and submit comments by Sept. 20, 2025, by:

  • Email: nspitzer@hntb.com
  • Mail: Wisconsin Department of Transportation
    718 W. Clairemont Ave.
    Eau Claire, WI 54701
    Attn.: Nathan Ulness

The pavement on WIS 25 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, WisDOT is proposing to:

  • Remove 2 inches of the existing pavement and pave 2 inches of new asphalt pavement
  • Widen paved shoulders to 5 feet
  • Add shoulder rumble strips from Lakeview Lane to the Dunn County line
  • Resurface the wayside north of North Prairie Lane
  • Replace guardrail
  • Clean culverts and ditches
  • Replace pavement markings

During construction, WIS 25 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter daytime single-lane closures controlled by flagging.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2032, but work could be advanced to 2029 if funding becomes available.
