Location
This project is located on three miles of westbound WIS 29 between Bass Lake Road and County D in the towns of Norrie and Elderon, Marathon County.
Overview
The existing asphaltic pavement, median inlets, concrete median barrier crash cushions, and guardrails are deteriorating. The intersection at WIS 29 and Bass Lake Road is experiencing crashes.
Pavement resurfacing, inlet repair, crash cushion replacement and guardrail replacement are proposed along westbound WIS 29 to address project needs. New pavement marking will be installed, and shoulder rumble strips will be placed to maintain safe operating conditions.
Partial or full closure of the Bass Lake Road intersection may be constructed with new cul-de-sacs and median removal to eliminate ongoing intersection crashes.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 29 will remain open to traffic during construction with single lane closures. Local and emergency access will be maintained to adjacent properties. The project is anticipated to take two to three months to construct.
