WIS 29, County E South to Purple Martin Lane (Westbound), Marathon County
Project Overview
The proposed project will include the following:
- Replacing pavement on WIS 29 (County E South to Pheasant Falls Road)
- Concrete pavement overlay (Pheasant Falls Road to Purple Martin Lane)
- Replacing guardrail under WIS 97 and County H
- Replacing guardrail at the WIS 97 and County H interchanges
- Replacing pavement along WIS 97 (approximately 3,000 feet)
- Replacing pavement at the County H interchange
- Replacing entrance and exit ramps at the WIS 97 and County H interchanges
- Spot culvert replacement
Work will be completed under three construction IDs, with construction currently scheduled to begin in 2026.
Traffic Impacts
The highway will remain open during construction; however, the westbound traffic will be crossed over to the eastbound lanes where one lane will be maintained for each direction. During construction on WIS 97, the roadway will be closed, and a posted detour will be provided. Westbound entrance and exit ramps for WIS 29 at WIS 97 and County H will also experience closures.

Public Involvement
A public involvement meeting will be held for this project on July 25, 2024 at 5 pm. The meeting will be held at the Edgar Village Hall at 224 South 3rd Avenue, Edgar, WI 54426. A brief presentation will begin at 5 pm followed by an open house.
