The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public feedback on proposed improvements on 10.1 miles of US 41 in Oconto County. This website gives information regarding the proposed improvement scope, schedule, and possible traffic impacts, shows the proposed locations of construction elements, provides information for businesses in the work zone, and offers an opportunity for public comment.
Project location
10.1 miles of US 41 from Oak Orchard Road near Abrams to Frog Pond Road south of the City of Oconto in Oconto County, Wisconsin.
Project improvements
This is a resurfacing-level improvement that includes the following construction elements:
- Mill three inches of the existing surface and overlay with 3 inches of new pavement
- Repair concrete pavement

- Replace shoulder adjacent to concrete pavement
- Install a living snow fence
- Install high-friction surface treatment
- Culvert rehabilitation
- Upgrade beam guard to current standards
- Replace pavement marking
Anticipated benefits
Resurfacing will provide a smoother riding surface resulting in less wear on vehicles, extend the life of pavement, and decrease maintenance costs. Culvert work will provide better drainage of stormwater from the roadway surface. High friction surface treatment and a living snow fence will provide a safer corridor for motorists.
Traffic impacts
US 41 will remain open to traffic during construction with single-lane closures.
