Location
This 1.67-mile project is located on US 10 from County A to 1,580 feet east of US 37 North in the Buffalo County city of Mondovi.
Overview
The existing pavement on this segment of US 10 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Replacing the asphalt pavement with 8 inches of concrete pavement
- Replacing approach slabs at the Peeso Creek Bridge
- Replacing storm sewer systems
- Replacing sidewalk and evaluating and reconstructing noncompliant sidewalk curb ramps
- Replacing curb, gutter and decorative street lighting
Moving signs as needed
Real Estate
Temporary limited easements, or TLEs, are expected to needed at some locations where sidewalk is being replaced. In addition, a drainage easement is anticipated for construction of a new storm sewer outfall.
Traffic Impacts
Construction is proposed to be completed under full closure of US 10. Because of a lengthy detour, construction would be split into two stages with segments splitting at WIS 37 North.
- Proposed detour for work west of WIS 37 North: US 10, WIS 85, WIS 37 and US 10.
- Proposed detour for work east of WIS 37 North: US 10, WIS 37, I-94, WIS 93 and US 10.
- In addition, the possibility of a local traffic detour using adjacent city streets will be considered.
Schedule
Construction is scheduled for 2030.
