Location
This project on US 10 runs from the south leg of WIS 73 in Neillsville east to the Clark/Wood County line.
Overview
The pavement on US 10 is showing signs of deterioration. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Remove a portion of the existing pavement and place new asphalt pavement over the roadway
- This includes the US 10/WIS 73 South intersection in Neillsville.
- Pave 8-foot shoulders to reduce run-off-the-road crashes
- Three feet of the existing shoulders currently are paved.
- The installation of shoulder rumble strips will be evaluated.
- Replace, repair or clean culverts
- Two existing cattle passes are proposed to be removed pending coordination with property owners.
- Replace curb and gutter at rural intersections and place spot locations of curb and gutter in Neillsville
- Replace curb and gutter within the unincorporated community of Lynn and add storm sewer inlets to address drainage near Cunningham Creek
- Replace guardrail and grade side slopes to meet current design standards
- Remove guardrail at the County K intersection
- Delineators are proposed to be installed to define the roadway and access in this area.
- Upgrade sidewalk curb ramps in Neillsville
- Replace the traffic signals at the US 10/WIS 73 North intersection in Neillsville and widen the northwest and southwest intersection radii to improve truck movement
- Install new pavement markings and centerline rumble strips
Real Estate
Minor acquisition and temporary easements will be required for curb ramp and culvert improvements.
