US 12/WIS 27 (Coffee Creek Bridge), Black River Falls - Jackson County

Location

The bridge carrying US 12/WIS 27 south of WIS 54 over Coffee Creek in the Jackson County city of Black River Falls.

Overview

The bridge deck is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:

  • Replacing the bridge deck, parapets and sidewalk.
  • Replacing the concrete pavement on the approaches on both sides of the structure.

Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2027, but work could be advanced to 2025 if funding becomes available.

Traffic Impacts

During construction, US 12/WIS 27 will remain open to traffic, but work will be staged to allow for single-lane bidirectional traffic.

Public Involvement

WisDOT is hosting a public involvement meeting to gather input on the proposed project.

  • When: 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18.
  • Where: Brockway Town Hall, 236 Gebhardt Road, Black River Falls.
