Location
This project proposes replacing twin culverts at First Trestle Creek between Main Street and Bush Brothers Drive and triple culverts at Diamond Valley Creek between East Street and County M South on US 12 in the Eau Claire County city of Augusta.
Overview
Placed in 1988, both sets of culverts are showing signs of deterioration and nearing the end of their service lives. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing the following at both locations:
- Replacing the culvert pipes with a two-cell concrete box culvert.
- Reconstructing approximately 100 feet of roadway approach.
- Grading approach slopes.
- Removing guardrail.
- Marking the pavement.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2028.
Traffic Impacts
During construction:
- US 12 at First Trestle Creek will be closed, with through traffic detoured via Bush Brothers and Ted Anderson drives.
- US 12/WIS 27 at Diamond Valley Creek will remain open to a single lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals.
- Access to businesses and homes and for emergency services will be maintained at both sites.
