Location
WIS 13 at its intersection with Engoe Road in the town of Washburn in Bayfield County.
Overview
To address safety concerns related to vehicles making left turns from northbound WIS 13 to Engoe Road, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Widening WIS 13 to add a 12-foot left-turn lane for northbound traffic.
- Milling 2 inches of pavement in the existing lanes and east shoulder.
- Reconstructing pavement and base layers in the widened area.
- Placing new pavement markings.
Real Estate
To facilitate the construction of a new left-turn lane, WisDOT anticipates the need to purchase some additional right of way for this project.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 13 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures.
