Location
This 5.8-mile project is located on WIS 13 north of the city of Medford between County M East in the town of Chelsea and WIS 102 in the town of Westboro, all in Taylor County.
Overview
The existing pavement on this segment of WIS 13 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Removing a portion of the existing pavement and paving new hot-mix asphalt pavement over the roadway
- Repairing or replacing culverts
- Replacing pavement markings
Real Estate
For culvert work, permanent acquisition, known as FEE, will be needed at four locations, and a permanent temporary limited easement, or PLE, will be needed at one location.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging.
Schedule
Construction is scheduled for 2027.
