WIS 25 (County D to WIS 170), town of Tainter and village of Wheeler - Dunn County

Location

This project on WIS 25 runs County D in the town of Tainter north to WIS 170 in the village of Wheeler, all in Dunn County.

Overview

The existing pavement on WIS 25 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:

  • Remove 4 inches of existing pavement and pave 4 inches of new asphalt pavement
  • Widen paved shoulders to 5 feet and install shoulder rumble strips from County D to 250 feet south of Hill Road
    • Three feet of the existing shoulders currently is paved.
  • Place gravel along the shoulders
  • Replace guardrail
  • Clean ditches
  • Clean or replace culverts and replace culvert end walls
  • Adjust utility castings
  • Replace curb and gutter at spot locations and pavement markings

Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2032.

Traffic Impacts

During construction, WIS 25 is expected to remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by flagging.
