Location
The project limits on WIS 29 run from River Road in the Dunn County city of Menomonie to WIS 128 in the St. Croix County town of Cady.
Overview
The pavement on this section of WIS 29 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Removing 2 inches of the existing pavement and placing 2 inches of new asphalt pavement
- Replacing the deck and making concrete surface repairs to the abutments and wing walls on the bridge carrying WIS 29 over Gilbert Creek between County N and Q
- Replacing the northwest, northeast and southwest wing walls on the bridge carrying WIS 29 over the south branch of Gilbert Creek southwest of the north leg of County Q
- Replacing all four wing walls and foaming and plating separated construction joints on the culvert east of 330th Street and adding riprap
- Replacing all four wing walls and foaming and plating separated construction joints on the culvert west of 370th Street
- Replacing the southwest wing wall on the culvert east of County N and cleaning the existing structure
- Replacing guardrail
- Adding gravel to shoulders
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2031, but work could be advanced to 2029 if funding becomes available.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 29 will remain open, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging.
