Location
The project is on WIS 35 from the Yellow River Bridge south of Danbury in the Burnett County town of Swiss north to about 200 feet south of the Douglas County line in the town of Blaine.
Overview
The existing pavement on WIS 35 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Milling a portion of the existing pavement by heating it, mixing the millings with emulsion, rejuvenating agents and additives and relaying the mixed material on the roadway
- This process is called hot-in-place recycling.
- Rehabilitate two bridges over the Yellow River and culverts carrying Chases Brook and Glendenning Creek under the highway
- Clean culverts
- Repair or replace guardrail
- Place new pavement markings
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2032, but work could occur as early as 2029 if funding becomes available.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 35 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter:
- Single-lane closures controlled by flagging for road work.
- Single-lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals for bridge and culvert rehabilitation work.
