Location
The proposed project involves two box culverts on WIS 35 - one west of County J (Spring Street) (C-46-0006) and the other northwest of Cemetery Road (C-46-0007) - in the Pepin County village of Stockholm.
Overview
The culverts are showing signs of deterioration and need maintenance. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing the following at:
- C-46-0006
- Replacing the top slab on the existing culvert
- Replacing railing
- Completing minor roadway approach work
- Replacing curb and gutter
- Placing new pavement markings
- C-46-0007
- Lining the existing box culvert
Real Estate
No real estate acquisition is anticipated for this project.

WisDOT recognizes businesses have special needs during construction. Through its In This Together program, WisDOT offers the
Road Construction Guide for Business to help them navigate construction.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.
Traffic Impacts
During construction:
- WIS 35 will be closed for work at the culvert just west of County J, and a detour will be signed.
- Local and emergency access will be maintained to adjacent properties.
- WIS 35 will remain open to traffic for the work at the culvert northwest of Cemetery Road, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by flagging.

WisDOT is holding a public involvement meeting on the proposed project.
- When: 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11
- Where: Calvary Covenant Church, 105 E. 2nd St., Stockholm
