Location
This project is located on WIS 48 and begins about 5 feet west of Bass Lake Lane east of Luck in the Polk County town of McKinley and ends about 5 feet east of US 63 in the Barron County city of Cumberland.
Overview
The pavement on this 11.76-mile segment of WIS 48 is deteriorating. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Replacing the pavement
- Replacing outdated guardrail
- Cleaning culverts
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 48 is proposed to be closed for pavement work.
- Proposed truck detour: WIS 35, WIS 46, US 8 and US 63
- Proposed car detour: County E, County D, US 8 and US 63
- Throughout construction, access will be maintained to residences and businesses in the work zone. However, driveways might be closed for short periods of time when operations are occurring near them.
Schedule
Construction is scheduled for 2030.
