Location
WIS 98 from WIS 73 south of Greenwood in the town of Eaton east to Helm Street on the western edge of Loyal, all in Clark County.
Overview
The existing pavement and culverts are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Replace existing concrete pavement, base material and geo-grid in poor soil areas.
- Make joint and centerline repairs where necessary.
- Clean or repair culverts to improve drainage.
- Replace pavement markings.
Schedule
Construction is currently scheduled for 2026.
- If funding becomes available, construction could occur as early as: 2025.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, motorists can expect:
- Single-lane closures controlled by flagging operations or temporary traffic signals for the majority of work.
- Single-lane traffic controlled by temporary signals during concrete replacement in areas showing high distress.
- Access for emergency services and property owners to be maintained.
