Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to replace the pavement on WIS 145 from Pilgrim Road to to just south of Division Road, in Germantown, Wisconsin. The purpose of this project is to provide long-term improvements to the pavement, operation, and safety of the roadway. Proposed improvements include:
- replacing roadway pavement
- evaluating where an urban versus rural typical cross section is appropriate
- completing drainage improvements/storm sewer installation
- replacing and upgrading guardrail at the Menomonee River bridge
- intersection improvements at WIS 145 and County F (Freistadt Road)
- replacement of existing curb ramps in disrepair or non-compliant with ADA standards, along with evaluating other pedestrian improvements
In addition, the project is proposing some locations for new sidewalk to be installed. Temporary Limited Easements and some right-of-way acquisitions will be required for the project.
Schedule
Construction is anticipated to start in 2028.
Public Involvement
A public involvement meeting was held on Jan. 20, 2026 at the Germantown Community Library. The meeting allowed the public to stop in at their convenience to learn about the project and share their input. Meeting materials are available below:
