Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to resurface approximately 1.2 miles of pavement on WIS 175 from Burleigh Street to WIS 181 (N 76th Street) in Milwaukee County, WI. The purpose of this project is to improve pavement condition and ride quality, assess multimodal accommodations, update traffic signal equipment, and address safety concerns along the corridor. Proposed improvements include:
- Remove asphalt and replace with new asphalt
- Joint and crack repair to the underlying concrete
- Curb bump outs at intersections
- Replace traffic signals
- Add bicycle and pedestrian accommodations
Traffic Impacts
Traffic impacts are still being evaluated. Access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
Schedule
Construction is tentatively anticipated to start in spring of 2029.
Public Involvement
WisDOT will hold a public involvement meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025 at the Dineen Park Pavilion (6601 W. Vienna Street) in Milwaukee from 4 to 6 p.m. for the public to learn more about the proposed improvements, get questions answered, and provide input to the project team. Meeting materials will be posted to the website after the meeting.
