WIS 213 bridge over the Rock River, Beloit - Rock County
Project overview
The WIS 213 bridge over the Rock River is a 3-span continuous steel deck girder structure and has noted several areas of deterioration:
- The deck has reached the end of its service life
- There are large spalls on the bridge rails
- The abutment back walls are delaminated and displaced
- The abutment bearings are rusted
The purpose of the project is to address the deterioration on the bridge. The project will include:
- Replacement of the bridge deck and rails
- Rreplacement of the abutment bearings
- Replacement of the abutment back walls
- Painting of the abutment girder ends
Schedule
- Summer 2025 - Public Involvement
- Summer 2029 - Construction anticipated
Traffic impacts/detours
WIS 213 will be closed and detoured for the duration of construction utilizing WIS 81, US 51 and IL 75.
