Low-risk Project Pilot (Phase 2)

WisDOT, in collaboration with Federal Highway Association (FHWA) and Wisconsin County Highway Association (WCHA), conducted a second cost-saving delivery pilot program via the Surface Transportation Program-Rural, Surface Transportation Program-Urban and Local Bridge Improvement Program. Projects were identified as:

  • Having minimal to no environmental impacts
  • Having minimal or no right of way, utility or railroad impacts

Thirty-one projects were selected from the 2020-2025 Local Program cycle. Projects were federally funded at 80% with 20% local funds match.
