Location
WIS 73, from WIS 44 North to WIS 23 South, Green Lake County
Overview
The purpose of the project is to address the existing asphalt pavement, which is showing signs of deterioration in the form of transverse cracking, rutting, and alligator cracking. Several culverts underneath WIS 73 are deteriorating and in need of repair.
The WIS 44 intersection has been identified as having safety issues. Existing guardrail does not meet current standards. The project extends from just south of the intersection of WIS 44 to just south of the intersection of WIS 23.
Proposed improvements include removing 2 inches off the top of the existing asphalt and replacing it with approximately 2 inches of new asphalt along a 9.9-mile section of WIS 73. The four culverts identified as needing repair will be replaced. Guardrail will be upgraded throughout the project to meet current standards. Modifications may be made to the WIS 44 intersection to address the safety issue there.
Traffic Impacts
The road is to remain open during construction using flagging operations as necessary. Access to residents and businesses along the project corridor will be provided during construction.
Real Estate
Some real estate may be required at culvert and guardrail replacement areas.
