WIS 15 Expansion - Schedule

Future (2021 and beyond)

Construction is expected to begin in May/June 2021 and extend to late 2024. A general description of construction staging and durations is provided on the Maps page and is summarized below:

  • Work on the bypass segment (ID 1146-75-71) that passes along the north side of Hortonville is expected to begin in late May/early June 2021. The vast majority of this work is on new location and will not impact WIS 15 traffic. There will be short-term closures to County M and Nash Street within the Village of Hortonville.  There will also be a longer-term 40 calendar day closure of County MM.

  • Work on the eastern segment from County JJ – Lily of the Valley Drive (ID 1146-75-72) will begin in early 2022 and is expected to be complete in late 2023. Construction will be completed in multiple stages to keep WIS 15 open to traffic for the majority of this project. However, WIS 15 will be closed for roughly 30 calendar days in late 2022 while work is complete surrounding the Wisconsin Central Limited at-grade railroad crossing. Side road closures along this segment will occur periodically during the project but will be staged such that consecutive side roads will not be closed. As part of this project, traffic signals will be installed at the Lily of the Valley Drive intersection near the conclusion of the project (late 2023).

  • Work on the roundabout west of Hortonville (ID 1146-75-76) will begin in early 2023 and is expected to be complete in late 2023. Construction will again be completed in multiple stages but WIS 15 will be closed to traffic for several months near Givens Road. A detour will be established that follows US 45 to US 10 to I-41.

  • The bypass and eastern segments of WIS 15 are expected to open to traffic in late 2023. A temporary connection will be constructed to tie back into existing WIS 15 just west of County T/Givens Road.

  • The western segment from US 45 – County T/Givens Road will begin in early 2024 and is expected to be complete in late 2024. This segment of WIS 15 will be closed during construction and a detour will be established that follows County T to County TT to US 45.

During all WIS 15 construction, business, local resident, and emergency access will be maintained along the corridor.
