Connections 2030 was the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's (WisDOT's) long-range transportation plan for the state. WisDOT has updated its statewide long-range transportation plan; please see Connect 2050 for more information. It is WisDOT's goal, as part of a 3C (continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive) planning process, to update modal plans and program guidance to align with the vision, goals, and objectives in Connect 2050.
Part of Connections 2030 was the identification of a series of system-level priority corridors. These corridors are critical to Wisconsin’s travel patterns and support the state’s economy.
Connections 2030 identifies 37 system-level priority corridors throughout the state. For each priority corridor, maps and tables highlight elements that include Connections 2030 recommendations, projects identified in the Six-Year Highway Improvement Program, and plan recommendations from applicable metropolitan planning organizations, regional planning commissions and tribal governments.
Maps have been produced for each of the 37 corridors and each of the state’s 13 metropolitan planning areas. Because the Southeast Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission's area covers seven counties, individual county maps were developed.
While these maps identify specific projects, they do not guarantee the timing of these projects or whether they will be undertaken.
Each corridor has a name that describes its history, the places it connects, and other distinguishing characteristics.
The maps are presented in color as Adobe PDF files, and are best printed at 11" x 17" size paper, but will print by default at 8.5" x 11. The maps are listed by county in alphabetical order.
