Wisconsin State Patrol's K9 Unit offers search capabilities using single-purpose canines to detect illegal narcotics and explosive ordinance detection (EOD). K9 resources remain on scene until such conditions have subsided and it is determined there is no longer a need for assistance.
Wisconsin State Patrol K9 teams:
- Detect illegal contraband/explosives
- Conduct evidence recovery
- Perform contraband sweeps of schools and correctional institutions
- Provide protective EOD sweeps during large-scale events and dignitary visits
