Aviation enthusiasts gather for a Skiplane Fly-in at the annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Winter Flight Fest at Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh. Pioneer is adjacent to Wittman Regional Airport and is owned and operated by EAA which hosts the world’s Largest Aviation Fly-in, AirVenture. Held every July, AirVenture turns Wittman Regional Airport into the world’s busiest airport for one week over the summer. WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics supports a network of eight commercial service airports and 121 diverse general aviation public-use airports.
