Members of the "Badger" TraCS Unit develop and maintain a suite of more than 20 forms for use by all Wisconsin law enforcement agencies through Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS), a data collection tool. Forms created and supported by the unit include, but are not limited to, the DT4000 Crash Report, Uniform Traffic Citation, Natural Resources Citation, Non-Traffic Citation, Pursuit, Incident, Use of Force and Arrest-Related Death (UFAD), Warning form, and the Driver Condition Report. Beyond form development and maintenance, unit members support a hosted TraCS environment for over 400 outside agencies. The technical expertise of the unit is also applied in its work with other technical areas in assuring the reliable and secure transmission of TraCS data to its various endpoints across the state and beyond. The unit also hosts an annual Statewide TraCS Users Conference training event for the over 550 agencies that use TraCS.
