WisDOT anticipates the first public involvement for the US 53 and US 14/61 Corridor to be held in summer 2024.

Study overview and locations

The purpose of the US 53 and US 14/61 study is to develop alternatives that improve safety and address traffic operations concerns where practicable, while addressing existing and projected infrastructure needs through the design year (2050).

  • Study limits: US 53 and US 14/61 (3rd, 4th, Copeland Avenue, Rose Street) from WIS 35 (West Avenue) to I-90

Schedule

2023

  • Develop study purpose and identify corridor needs
  • Develop alternative concepts
  • Field investigations

2024

  • Early 2024 - Initial public involvement activities
  • Alternative development
    • Develop and finalize range of alternatives to address corridor needs
    • Select preferred alterative and present to stakeholders
  • Late 2024 - public involvement activities

2025

  • Summer 2025 - Complete environmental study

Planning/environmental study with no scheduled construction activity
