WisDOT anticipates the first public involvement for the WIS 16 Corridor to be held in late 2024.

Study overview and locations

The purpose of the WIS 16 study is to develop alternatives that improve safety and address traffic operations concerns where practicable, while addressing existing and projected infrastructure needs through the design year (2050).

  • Study Limits: WIS 16 from the WIS 16/Losey Blvd. intersection to I-90 and WIS 157 from WIS 16 to I-90

Schedule

2024

  • Develop study purpose and identify corridor needs
  • Develop alternative concepts
  • Field investigations
  • Summer 2024 – Initial Public Involvement activities
  • Alternatives Development - Develop and finalize range of alternatives to address corridor needs

2025

  • Alternative Development - Select preferred alternative and present to stakeholders
  • Early 2025 – Public involvement activities
  • Fall 2025 – Complete environmental study

Planning/environmental study with no scheduled construction activity
