Repossession application

Note: Repossession application form MV2117 is restricted to lienholder use only!

To apply for a title in your (lienholder) name as repo​ssessor

Complete and sign Section A of form MV2117​:

  • Your secured party number, name and address must be the same as the secured party information shown on the Wisconsin Certificate of Title.
  • If the new title is to be mailed to someone other than the secured party name and address listed on the Certificate of Title, complete the "Special Mailing – Name and Address" portion.
  • If more than one lien holder is listed on the title you must notify subsequent lien holders of the repossession and confirm it by checking the "Notice of Sale given subordinate lienholders" box.
  • If you have a purchaser for the vehicle, the purchaser must complete Application for Title/Registration form MV1 and submit it along with the MV2117 and proper fees.

Section B
Complete section B and sign when the vehicle has been repossessed by someone other then the secured party shown in section A.

Section C
​Complete section C and sign when the vehicle has been repossessed outside Wisconsin.
