eNotify: Get notifications by email/text


Sign up to get renewal reminders by email and text for:

  • Driver license and ID card renewals
  • Vehicle registration renewals for eligible vehicles
  • CDL notifications, such as:
    • Fed Med Card renewals (for Tier 1 CDL drivers)
    • School bus physical and testing requirement reminders
    • Haz Mat renewals
  • Any other notices allowed by Wisconsin motor vehicle laws

IMPORTANT: After signing up, open DMV's confirmation email and complete the verification process. You are now paperless and will no longer receive notices by mail.

Once you have signed up you will be able to update/access your account and manage your subscription preference(s) at any time.

When you sign up for eNotify you will no longer get notifications by mail. You will receive multiple reminders (by your choice of email or text) before the due date, including:

  • Vehicle registration renewal notices for eligible vehicles
    • 1st about 60 days before expiration
    • 2nd reminder about 30 days before expiration
    • 3rd and final reminder about 2 days before exp

te: If your vehicle is not eligible to receive reminders via eNotify, you will continue to receive paper renewal notices only for that vehicle. All other eligible eNotifications will be sent by email or text.

  • Driver license and ID card renewal notices
    • 1st about 60 days before expiration
    • 2nd reminder about 30 days before expiration
    • 3rd and final reminder about 5 days before expiration
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) notifications will be received for the following:
    • Fed Med Card renewals (for Tier 1 CDL drivers)
      • 1st about 60 days prior to Fed Med Card expiring
      • 2nd about 30 days prior to Fed Med Card expiring
      • After expired, a downgrade letter is sent warning of surrendering CDL since there is currently no medical card on file
    • School bus physical and testing requirement reminders
      • 1st about 60 days prior to proof of physical fitness due
        • If you are over age 70, both the proof of physical fitness deadline and the testing deadline are included on the notification
        • If you are over age 70 and only the testing deadline is due, you will still get a notification about this deadline
      • 2nd about 30 days prior to proof of physical fitness due and/or testing deadline
  • Haz Mat renewals
    • 30 days before the H Restriction expires
  • Alerts anytime changes are made to your DMV record to help you spot fraud:
    • Address changes
    • When a new driver license or ID card is issued
