Release date: March 16, 2022
Work on US 51, between Trout Lake Road and Gresham Road/Day Lake Road, in the town of Arbor Vitae is scheduled to begin March 28, 2022.
Sheet Piling Services is the prime contractor for the $1,525,984 project. Crews will replace the culvert pipe at Trout River, backfill, and pave the roadway.
During construction, US 51 will remain open. Motorists will encounter temporary traffic signals at the work location. At times, a 12-foot width restriction will be in place with a posted detour utilizing WIS 47. Signs will be placed in advance to notify motorists.
Access will be maintained to Trout River via a signed temporary portage route to ensure recreational passage around the work zone at all times.
Construction is scheduled for completion by August 2022. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
State transportation funds will pay for 100 percent of the improvements.
