Next stage of tunnel light replacement project to begin in Milwaukee County

Beginning Monday, April 14, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will start the next stage of construction on the tunnel light replacement project in Milwaukee County.

What to expect:

Beginning Friday, April 11, by 3:00 PM:

The northbound I-43 exit ramp tunnel to Kilbourn Avenue is scheduled to reopen to traffic.

Beginning Monday, April 14, by 7:00 AM:

The Kilbourn Avenue entrance ramp tunnel to northbound I-43 is scheduled to close for approximately two (2) months while crews repair and replace the lighting system.

Motorists are encouraged to use 6th Street and WIS 145 (Fond Du Lac Avenue) to get around this closure.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
