County D in Eau Claire County to be closed at I-94

Closure expected to be in place for two months because of overhead work on interstate

Release date: May 8, 2024

County D under I-94 in the Eau Claire County town of Washington will be closed to traffic starting Monday, May 13 because of a construction project on I-94 from just west of the US 53 interchange in the city of Eau Claire to Mallard Road.

Expected to be in place for two months, the closure is necessary because of work on the I-94 bridge over County D.

Construction on the multiyear pavement replacement project that also includes widening the bridge over Otter Creek, replacing two bridges and a box culvert, repairing storm sewer and resurfacing the I-94/US 53 interchange began in early March. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November 2026.
