Public meeting scheduled for WIS 32 improvements in Sheboygan County

WIS 32 project website now live to view proposed design

(Sheboygan) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a WIS 32 design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on 10.3 miles of WIS 32 from County D in the village of Cedar Grove to WIS 28 near the village of Sheboygan Falls in Sheboygan County. 

Included on the website is information to join the WIS 32 Project live, online public involvement meeting scheduled for 5 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022. Project staff will present the proposed improvements via Microsoft Teams. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain public input on the identified needs and proposed design details. A comment, question and answer period will follow the live project presentation. To join the meeting:

  • 5 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 via Microsoft Teams
  • Participants can access the live meeting via computer browser or mobile device by going to the WIS 32 Project website ​and clicking on “Join the meeting” under the Public Meeting Notice at the top of the webpage. 
  • There is also an option to join the meeting via audio-only with a conference call phone number on the website.
The proposed project is a resurfacing-level improvement with a 2-inch mill and 2-inch pave with hot mix asphalt proposed. Other construction elements include five culvert replacements, curb ramp work, and pavement markings and beam guard. Traffic impacts include a full closure of WIS 32 for culvert removal and replacement. The highway will remain open for resurfacing work with flagging operations and lane closures. 
 
The WIS 32 website includes maps of the project limits and location, proposed scope and schedule, traffic impacts and proposed detour route, displays and exhibits, temporary business signing information for businesses in the work zone, a downloadable project information handout, and various methods for the public to provide comment.
