Work on bridge over Pem Bon Won River and Crain Lane begins June 8, 2021

Release Date: May 25, 2021

(Green Bay) To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $1.1million contract to improve the US 8/US141 bridge structure over the Pem Bon Won River and Crain Lane in the town of Pembine, Marinette County. The project begins Monday, June 8 and is expected to finish in October 2021. The highway will remain open during construction.

Zenith Tech, Inc. from Waukesha, Wis. is the Prime Contractor.

Project improvements
Work includes repairs to the concrete bridge deck along with placement of a new concrete deck overlay, expansion joint replacement, and upgrades to the concrete bridge parapet walls.

Traffic impacts
A temporary traffic signal will be installed to keep US 8/141 open to traffic when construction takes place. Traffic will use one lane to cross the bridge. Brief delays can be expected. Bridge horizontal clearance will be reduced to a maximum width of 16-feet during construction operations.

Project benefits
The current bridge deck has deteriorated. This project will maintain the structural integrity of the bridge and reduce future maintenance. Drivers will experience a smoother driving surface. Upgrades to the bridge parapet wall will improve roadway safety for the travelling public.
