Construction projects might impact routes to Country Fest

Construction projects might impact routes motorists are planning to take next week to Country Fest, a three-day music festival that runs from June 27-29 at its grounds on County S between Cornell and Cadott.

Motorists can go to 511wi.gov to see the following impacts in Chippewa County and plan alternate routes:

  • The ramp from northbound US 53 to County S at Exit 99 northwest of Chippewa Falls is closed to traffic.
    • A message board on northbound US 53 will direct motorists to continue north on US 53, take Exit 102 (County B) in Tilden and follow County B to WIS 124 to County S.
  • WIS 27 south of Cadott is restricted to a single lane of traffic controlled by temporary signals at the Paint Creek Bridge.
  • County X is closed to through traffic from County K South to the west ramps at the WIS 29/County X interchange at Exit 87 southwest of Cadott.
    • A message board on WIS 29 east of US 53 will direct motorists to take WIS 27 at Exit 91 in Cadott.

Motorists are reminded that using handheld cell phones in Wisconsin work zones is illegal. Alerts and updates provided via these sites are not intended for use while driving. When driving, your focus should always be on driving.
