Governor Evers approves WIS 32 improvements in Oconto County

Resurfacing in town of Mountain begins July 18, 2022​

(Mountain) To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $3 million contract to improve 4.3 miles of WIS 32 from Parkway Drive to County Road W within the town of Mountain. The project begins Monday, July 18 and expected to finish in late September of this year. WIS 32 will remain open to traffic during construction. 

Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville, Wis. is the Prime Contractor.

Project improvements
Construction includes resurfacing of WIS 32 in the project work zone by milling 3.5 inches and overlaying four inches with asphalt. Other work includes culvert pipe replacements, culvert pipe lining, rumble strips, and curb repairs.

Traffic impacts
WIS 32 will remain open during construction with lane closures and flagging operations. 

Project benefits
The project will improve the pavement surface which will reduce surface roughness and provide a smoother driving surface for motorists. The improvements will also extend the life of the existing pavement. New rumble strips will enhance safety for the traveling public. Repair and replacement of culverts help ensure adequate drainage to mitigate possible flooding, and the repair of damaged curb and gutter will assist in proper drainage of water.
