Deck sealing extends life of bridges

(Northeast Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces completion of construction to improve bridge decks on various state highways and interstate highways in the counties of Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Sheboygan, and Winnebago. The project began Wednesday, July 13, 2022 and finishes on time and on budget.
Work consisted of resealing existing concrete bridge decks on various highways in each county. The application of the deck sealant will help extend the life of the concrete and steel in the bridge deck by protecting it from deicing chemicals such as chlorides and decrease future maintenance costs. Norcon Corporation of Schofield, Wis. was the Prime Contractor.
