Governor Evers approves WIS 50 resurfacing and improvement project in Walworth County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has approved a $2.8 million resurfacing and improvement project along WIS 50 in Walworth County. Payne and Dolan is the prime contractor for the project. Work is scheduled to begin September 2.

Improvements Include:

This project will make improvements to approximately 3.7 miles of WIS 50, between WIS 67 and Lake Lawn Drive. Improvements include:

  • Remove and replace asphalt pavement
  • Upgraded traffic signals
  • Upgraded pedestrian accommodations
  • Storm sewer cleaning and repairs
  • New guardrail over Delavan Lake Inlet bridge
  • New pavement markings and signing

Traffic Impacts:

WIS 50, between WIS 67 and Lake Lawn Drive, will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses and residents along WIS 50 will be maintained.

A signed detour will utilize WIS 67 and I-43 to get around the closure.

Schedule:

This project is scheduled for completion by mid-fall 2025. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
