Governor Evers approves US 51 bridge improvements in Oneida County

Lake Katherine bridge will receive deck and polymer overlay

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $600,000 contract to resurface a US 51 bridge in Oneida County between Tomahawk and Minocqua. Lunda Construction Company will be the prime contractor for the project. Construction will consist of:

  • Lake Katherine bridge will receive a deck overlay and a polymer overlay
  • Reconstruct the roadway approaches leading to the bridge

During construction, US 51 will be open to traffic using temporary traffic signals.

Construction is scheduled to begin May 2023 and be completed by August 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
