Governor Evers approves I-39 improvements in Waushara County

Crews will resurface road and repair underpasses and guard rails

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers today signed a $2.5 million contract to improve I-39 Northbound, between the Marquette County Line and County O in Waushara County. Work is scheduled to begin in May 2023.

American Asphalt of Wisconsin is the prime contractor for the project. Construction to be completed includes:

  • Resurfacing the highway
  • Reconstructing deteriorated underpasses and bridge approach slabs
  • Repair deteriorated pipes
  • Replace guard raid
  • Install rumble strips

During construction, motorists will encounter single-lane closures.

Construction is scheduled for completion by late October 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
