WIS 22 and WIS 52, US 10 ramps to Wisconsin Central Railroad Bridge

Location

WIS 22/WIS 54, between the US 10 ramps and the Wisconsin Central Limited Railroad Bridge, Waupaca County

Overview

The purpose of the proposed action is to preserve the roadway asset and minimize the overall life cycle cost of the corridor by addressing needs that include the following:

  • A pavement surface that is deteriorating and showing signs of distress
  • Sections of curb and gutter that are deteriorating between USH 10 and the Apple Tree Lane/Runway Drive intersection
  • Curb ramps at the intersections of Apple Tree Lane and Godfrey Drive that do not meet current Americans with Disability Act standards
  • A safety issue at the Apple Tree Lane/Runway Drive intersection
  • Scouring that is occurring at the parapet within the southeast quadrant of the Waupaca River bridge

To address the deteriorating pavement surface, WIS 22 will be resurfaced. To address the safety issue at the Apple Tree Lane/Runway Drive intersection, the WIS 22 lanes will be reconfigured and the River Ridge Trail crossing will be realigned.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists on WIS 22 will encounter flagging operations during construction. Access will be maintained to adjacent properties. Construction along Apple Tree Lane will require a short-term road closure. The anticipated detour for WIS 22 northbound traffic would be US 10 to Churchill Street to Apple Tree Lane. The anticipated detour for WIS 22 southbound traffic would be Waupaca County K (Royalton Street) to Churchill Street to Apple Tree Lane.

Real Estate

No real estate acquisition is anticipated.
