WIS 50 Reconstruction, Wheatland - Kenosha County

Project location

WIS 50, from S County W to the Wisconsin Central Railroad, in the Town of Wheatland, Kenosha County.

Overview

This section of WIS 50 has been subject to flooding at the Fox River during periods of heavy rain, which has required the road to close. Due to flooding that occurs on WIS 50 just east of the N County W intersection, WisDOT is proposing to reconstruct 0.25 miles of the roadway. Proposed improvements include raising the roadway to an elevation that reduces the likelihood of flooding in the future.

No changes to the number of lanes are proposed. Real estate will be required on the north side of the roadway to accommodate improvements.
