 Release Date: February 22, 2022

(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on WIS 28 between the south county line and WIS 57 in the towns of Scott, Mitchell, and Lyndon and within the villages of Cascade and Waldo, Sheboygan County, Wis.

The website is available for public view at:

This is a resurfacing-level improvement that includes a mill and overlay of mainline WIS 28, replacement of various guardrail, culverts and pavement markings. In addition, the bridge over the North Branch of the Milwaukee River will be replaced in the village of Cascade. Construction is scheduled for 2025 but could be advanced to as early as 2024. WIS 28 will remain open throughout the majority of construction. A detour of WIS 28 will be required during the bridge construction. The preliminary detour will use County A and WIS 57.

Access will be maintained for all residents and businesses.
The website includes maps of the project limits and location, proposed scope and schedule, traffic impacts, temporary business signing information for businesses in the work zone, a downloadable project information handout, and various methods for the public to provide comment.
