Proposed work includes replacing two aging culverts east of city of Medford

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a local officials and public involvement meeting to provide information on a proposed improvement project on WIS 64 east of the Taylor County city of Medford.

When: 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 16

Where: Browning Town Hall, N3030 Lekie Drive, Medford
The culverts, placed in 1938 in the town of Medford and 1922 in the town of Browning, are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, WisDOT is proposing:
- Removing the existing structures and replacing them with concrete box culverts.
- Replacing the pavement surrounding each culvert replacement site.
- Removing guardrail where deemed unnecessary.
- Placing new pavement markings.
During construction, WIS 64 will be closed, with through traffic detoured via WIS 97, WIS 29, WIS 13 and WIS 64. The contractor will be required to maintain access to properties in the work zone at all times.
