The existing pavement on these segments are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, WisDOT is proposing:

  • Performing spot repairs on the driving lanes where deterioration exists.
  • Overlaying existing concrete with asphalt at select locations in both directions of travel.
  • Resurfacing the existing shoulders.
  • Replacing guardrail at structures.
  • Installing new pavement marking and shoulder rumble strips.
  • Replacing some signage.
  • Cleaning or riprapping culvert end walls.

Construction will be staged to allow for a single lane of traffic in both directions to remain open at all times, but temporary ramp closures will be necessary to complete the work.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2026.
