Location
The proposed project includes structures at the following:
Buffalo County
- WIS 37, Peeso Creek Bridge northeast of Mondovi in the town of Naples.
Chippewa County
- WIS 29, County X bridge over WIS 29 southwest of Cadott in the town of Sigel.
Clark County
- WIS 73, Cawley Creek Bridge north of Neillsville in the town of Weston.
Dunn County
- US 12/WIS 25, northbound Red Cedar River Bridge in city of Menomonie.
- US 12, Annis Creek Bridge northwest of the city of Menomonie in the town of Menomonie.
Pierce County
- WIS 29, Rush River Bridge west of Spring Valley in the town of Martell.
Trempealeau County
- WIS 95, Trempealeau River Bridge in the city of Blair.
- US 53, South Fork Buffalo River Bridge in the city of Osseo.
Overview
The proposed project involves painting portions of the eight bridges, including abutments, bearing plates, bearings, girders, piers and splice plates to extend the life of the structures.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2024.
Traffic Impacts
During painting:
- Motorists will encounter single-lane and shoulder closures.
- Pedestrians also will be detoured at the following two projects:
- Dunn County: US 12/WIS 25, northbound Red Cedar Bridge, city of Menomonie.
- For the northern crossing, the detour will utilize the intersection of Wolske Bay Road/Meadow Road and US 12 West/WIS 25 North.
- For the southern crossing, the detour will utilize the pedestrian overpass at 2nd Avenue West (extended). The east sidewalk will be the closed section.
- Trempealeau County: US 53, South Fork Buffalo River Bridge, Osseo.
- For the northern crossing, the detour will utilize the intersection of 7th Street and US 53/Harmony Street.
