I-94 130th Street and Kinnickinnic River Bridges - St. Croix County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to replace four existing bridges on I-94 eastbound and westbound over 130th Street and over the Kinnickinnic River in St. Croix County starting in 2019.

The project will involve removal of the existing bridges on I-94 EB and WB over 130th Street and over the Kinnickinnic River, and replacing with new bridges. The four new bridges will be built wider to accommodate a future six-lane interstate. Approaching roadway pavement will also be replaced.

  • November 2018: Project Letting
  • Spring 2019: Begin construction
  • Fall 2020: Scheduled completion

Traffic Impacts

Single lane closures will be used to construct temporary median crossovers and temporary shoulder widening along I-94. Four lanes of I-94 will be open to traffic for most of the project duration. There will be shoulder closures and flagging operations on 130th Street. Overnight closures of 130th Street will occur on a limited basis to allow for critical bridge work.
