Location
US 63 at the Beaver Dam Lake structure in the Barron County city of Cumberland.
Overview
The pavement on US 63 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, WisDOT proposes to:
- Remove the existing box culvert and Lake Street Bridge.
- Build a new bridge on US 63.
- Dredge Beaver Dam Lake under US 63 and Lake Street.
- Reconstruct US 63 approaches on both sides of the new structure.
- US 63 will be raised nearly four feet to increase the navigational clearance under the proposed bridge to nine feet.
- Reconstruct portions of Lake Street, Nedvidek Street and Babcock Avenue to match new US 63 raised profile.
Real Estate
Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated in order to build the bridge.
